Experts support standardization
Following the completion of the pti development, the definition of a series and proof of performance, the pti-working group has drawn up a proposed standard. Three sizes of a standard series were defined, which meet the industrial requirements through different designs.
The three-part proposal covers tool shanks (Part 1), tool holders (Part 2) and couplings for driven tools (Part 3). The proposed standard was submitted in 2019 and immediately converted into a DIN standard with the support of the DIN and VDW committees. Due to its international importance, the standardization process was started at ISO in 2021, which will be completed in September 2024 with the publication of the three standards ISO 5686-1, -2 and -3.
The pti-working group has developed three sizes of a standard series, which meet the industrial requirements by different styles.
The introduction and standardization of PTI is accompanied by an open group of experts. Further interested parties are welcome to participate. Information you can get by the partners of the pti-working-group and from WZL.
