Turret Interface PTI
TECHNOLOGICALLY UNIQUE
An eight-fold polygon is the centerpiece of the polygonal turning interface (PTI) – a design element for high performance and accuracy.
Turret Interface PTI
Uniformity, performance and flexibility are the hallmarks of the new turret interface PTI (polygonal turning interface). As a uniform mechanical interface, this interface creates the conditions for the flexible equipment of modern lathes with precise, high-performance toolholders and driven tools. The media supply (coolant, air) and the data and energy transfer complete the PTI interface.

…the technological advantages of the PTI interface have a direct impact on component quality and production
PTI – the turret interface with quick change system
Saving of non-productive time by quick manual tool change
PTI – the high precision turret interface
Saving of non-productive time by cancellation of measuring cuts and alignment processes
PTI – the high loadable turret interface
Increased productivity through higher rigidity, bending load capacity and extremely high torque transmission
PTI – the turret interface with the powerful drive
More than 30% higher milling performance with DTH due to strong drive shaft and improved coupling
At the EMO Hannover 2019, the companies of the pti-working-group and the extended body of experts present the new turret interface PTI. Get important information from our specialists on a development that will make your lathe even more powerful. We show PTI products from the toolholder and driven tool to the turret with clamping system up to the complete machine tool. For the first time you can see the new PTI interface in a vertical turning center at the EMO (Rasoma, NSH-Group).
The companies of the pti-working-group submitted the PTI standard proposal to DIN in May 2019 following completion of various successfully completed research projects. The proposal comprises the three parts: shank (1), receiver (2) and coupling (3). The proposal was accepted on 06 June 2019 at a meeting of NA 121-02-05 AA “Toolholders and Machine / Tool Interface” (DIN) and NA 122-59-01 AA “Machine-Side Toolholder Interface” (VDW). At DIN, the standard proposal is now being converted into a first draft standard under the number DIN 69108. It is expected that the PTI standard will be completed by the end of 2020. For information, the standard proposals can be downloaded. It should be noted that changes are still possible during the standardization process.
